Alberta Invites 743 Workers in Latest AAIP Draws

Alberta has issued 743 invitations through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program, known as the AAIP, in a series of provincial immigration draws held between June 5 and June 15, 2026.

The latest rounds targeted workers through several AAIP streams and pathways, including health care, manufacturing, agriculture, rural communities, and the Alberta Opportunity Stream.

June 5, 2026Alberta Opportunity Stream46250

The largest draw was under the Alberta Opportunity Stream, with 462 invitations and a minimum score of 50.

What the scores show

The minimum scores ranged from 45 to 63, depending on the stream or pathway.

This is important because it shows that Alberta is not only selecting candidates with high federal CRS scores. Some AAIP pathways use Alberta’s own selection factors and may invite candidates based on provincial labour-market needs, occupation, work experience, job offer, rural connection, or sector priority.

The lowest minimum score in this group of draws was 45 under the Dedicated Health Care Pathway – non-Express Entry. The highest was 63 under the Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors: Health Care.

Why this matters for workers

These draws show that Alberta continues to prioritize workers in sectors where the province has labour-market needs.

The targeted sectors included:

  • health care;
  • manufacturing;
  • agriculture;
  • rural communities;
  • Alberta-based workers under the Alberta Opportunity Stream.

For candidates, the message is clear: Alberta may be a serious option if your profile matches one of the province’s priority areas. But the stream matters. A candidate in health care, for example, may need to review whether they fit the Express Entry health care pathway, the non-Express Entry Dedicated Health Care Pathway, or another AAIP option.

Alberta Opportunity Stream remains important

The Alberta Opportunity Stream accounted for the largest number of invitations in this round.

This stream is generally important for temporary foreign workers who are already living and working in Alberta and have a qualifying full-time job offer from an Alberta employer.

A large Alberta Opportunity Stream draw does not mean every worker in Alberta qualifies. Candidates still need to review work permit status, occupation, job offer, language, education, work experience, and employer-related requirements.

What this means for Express Entry candidates

Alberta also issued invitations through Express Entry-linked priority sector pathways.

This matters because a provincial nomination through an Express Entry-linked AAIP pathway can significantly strengthen a candidate’s federal Express Entry profile. However, candidates must still meet the Alberta pathway requirements and the federal Express Entry requirements.

For workers in health care, manufacturing, or agriculture, the key question is not just “What is my CRS score?” The stronger question is whether the candidate’s occupation, work history, job offer, and Alberta connection match what the province is selecting.

Final note

Alberta’s latest invitation rounds show active selection across multiple AAIP pathways, with strong attention to health care, manufacturing, agriculture, rural communities, and workers already contributing to Alberta’s economy.

However, an invitation trend is not the same as eligibility. The correct pathway depends on the candidate’s full profile.
